Friday Notes
July 16, 2010

Dear Families,
Thank you for your prayers, and expressions of sympathy in the loss of our dear Sr. Teresa. It was especially meaningful because of her love of the children and our school. She would often sit at dinner and say, “You have some of the most beautiful children in the world.” I do so agree! And beautiful families!

Let’s get together and celebrate!! Family Night is next Thursday, July 22 at 5:30 p.m. Don’t forget to bring – LC 3 meat; LC 4 vegetables; Kindergarten salads; Grades 1-5 chips and dips; staff paper goods, and new families – desserts.

When I came back – plastered over each of the building’s doors was our no peanut sign – it seems that some of our new members don’t know – we do not serve peanut butter due to some serious allergic reactions. PLEASE, do not bring items with any nut items – we have some who allergic to tree nuts as well.

The students seemed to enjoy Chester the Clown last week – he loves coming to Villa Teresa. This week we have the traditional Talent Show – where the students are the entertainers themselves. The show starts at 9:30 a.m. Next week we will have Mr. McGhee as a storyteller. He is very entertaining.

It is looking as if our last swimming day will be July 30th, two of our swimming teachers
will be involved in Archdiocesan training.

IMMERSED IN CHRIST (Fifteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time)
Love as a Way of Life
INVENTORY: The Gospel must be our rule of life in order that our joy is full.
INPUT: Prayers at Mass all speak of forward motion: of guidance and growing. God’s light guides us to love as God loves so that we might become what God calls us to be. Our first move in growing is to ask God for direction.
Scripture: Deuteronomy 30: 10 – 14; Luke 10: 25-37; Colossians 1:15 –20.
INSIGHT: Can I adopt ministry and discipleship as a way of life? What more would I add?
INITIATIVE: Read Scripture every day; then focus on showing love to every person you meet.
