Dear Friends,
This is Holy Week. In our church, there are many special services this week all commemorating the love expressed in Jesus’ life, death and resurrection. Yesterday (Sunday) was Palm Sunday. On Tuesday, people will gather at the Cathedral (6:00 p.m.) to witness the oils being blessed that will be used for Confirmation, Ordination and anointing of the sick. All our priests in the Archdiocese will renew their promises of service to the people to Archbishop Beltran. Thursday, Friday and Saturday make up one service. Thursday celebrates the Last Supper. Friday, we will be closed – that evening people will gather to remember Jesus’ dying on the cross. On the weekends, I serve as music minister at Little Flower Church which is primarily an Hispanic parish – on these special occasions we come together as one people and there are many traditions so beautiful and meaningful shared between the various cultures. You are invited to attend. We are located at 11th and South Walker- because of the number of the people, we will have services in the new parish hall in the back of the main church. It seats over a 1,000 people. The services begin at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
Matt Frost is diligently working on our yearbook – if you have special pictures you want included from our various events, please send them to the school office or email them directly to Matt (m.frost@cox.net).
Don’t forget to send in your registration form for T-Ball and Baseball with the check.
We need your help for the auction – if you should have that gift that has never been out of the closet – some beautiful item you would love to share with someone else, bring it for our auction. Your classroom teacher is choosing a particular theme for their basket, so they will appreciate your helping to fill the basket. This year, our theme is “A Mayan Holiday” – some of our items to be auctioned were donated from Fr. Stanley Rother, our Oklahoma priest that was martyred in Guatemala. We also have a trip to Orlando and other fantastic items. It also helps for acquisitions to contact establishments for gift certificates and other contributions. Check with Diana Bittle for a listing of possible donors – so you will know who to contact or who has been contacted (dbittle@cox.net).
We had a great spring break! Somehow some of the students slipped in on “wheelies” – they are not allowed even during spring break. We try to create a safe environment. Skate shoes are not safe on our surfaces. You will be called to bring in regular shoes if they are worn again. If the skate part removes, we will hold the wheels until the end of the school year.

Immersed in Christ
Holy Thursday – remembering the annual Passover celebration, the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus at Passover time revealed him as the true “Lamb of God” whose blood saves all humanity.
Good Friday – Jesus’ final words are the response that will bring our faith, hope and love to perfection when we are called to surrender ourselves totally and irrevocably to god in death: “Father, into your hands I commend my spirit.”
Holy Saturday – The light service begins in darkness. We kindle and bless the new fire, symbol of the new light of Christ that dispels the darkness of all ages. There are seven readings that proclaim creation, the covenant, the exodus, fidelity, blessing, secure guidance and gift of His Spirit.
Spend time reflecting upon the following readings and share with a friend how it influences your present day life.
John 12:1-11; John 13: 21-38; Matthew 26:14-25; John 13: 1-5; John 18:1-19:42; Matthew 28:1-10

P.S. We are inviting anyone who can to come to Villa Teresa Moore for a meeting with the city councilmen , Brian Walters and Pete White about issues concerning the adjacent kennel. The meeting will be Tuesday, April 1 at 6:30 p.m. at VTM (13501 S Western). If you live in that area and have other concerns please feel free to express them. Questions need to be raised as to how to prevent this from happening in other neighborhoods. It is important that they know people are concerned, so your presence is greatly appreciated.
