Dear Friends,
Our Teacher Appreciation committee has been busy! Each teacher and staff member will choose a potted plant that is on our greeter table in the front entrance to begin a week showing how grateful for all the signs of dedication our staff members witness.
Congratulations to Kevin and Lisa O’Nan, Hollie Niblitt, Elbieta and Marco Chavez, Suji and Thiru Jayasekar, and Cristi and Ed Pendleton for earning their twenty hours of volunteering.
The BIG event this week is the Spring Soiree! We need bunches of people to come! Please give us some indication by Wednesday as we have to let the caterer know how much food to provide. The tickets are $25.00. Some of the events that are really exciting is the bidding for the class plate made by Ms Nancy Hazelton. The plates have the students’ names on them and people really do get excited in the bidding. We’re adding something new this year – a game that was introduced at the McGuinness auction called “Heads and Tails”. It would be your chance to get $100 – additional money for you to bid on other items (smile).
This Friday, we are also honoring our Mothers from LC 3 and LC 4 with a luncheon. Monday we will host the Mothers of K-4th grade. We hope you can come. An invitation was sent last week, please respond so we can know how much food to prepare (just as in the paragraph above).
The business office reminds you to be current in your payment before you consider registering for the summer and fall terms. We are already at capacity in Kindergarten and the last slot for LC 3 was taken last Saturday. We need our third and fourth graders to register as soon as possible.
PTO is this Wednesday, May 6 at 5:30 p.m. Come and meet the new officers.
An invitation will be going out today for the Thanksgiving Mass at St. Joseph’s Old Cathedral. We’re offering a Mass of Thanksgiving for 75 years of service to families in the Oklahoma City area. It would be really neat if we had at least a 50 voice choir so please consider coming. The Mass will be at 4:00 p.m.
These next two weeks are filled with activities. This Thursday we will have a Poetry Festival at 9:00 a.m.. Our next school Mass is Friday, May 15 at 9:00 a.m.
Hope to see you at the Soiree at Remington Park, Friday, May 8 – 6:00 – 10:00 p.m.

Immersed in Christ (The Shepherd who leads to Life)
INVENTORY: Where is my religion taking me? Do I experience it as leading me somewhere besides heaven? Where am I this year as compared to last year? Did I get there by consciously, explicitly following Christ? In what ways?
INPUT: We ask God through “Christ our shepherd” to lead us to join the saints in heaven. In the Church’s theological formula, all who are alive are in the state of “being on the road.” We believe Jesus is leading us somewhere. To be Christian is to follow, to move. Jesus is the shepherd who leads us.
Scripture: Acts 2:14, 36-41; John 10: 1-10; 1 Peter 2:20 – 25
INSIGHT: What is “wanting” to those who follow Jesus? What to those who do not?
INITIATIVE: Be conscious you are moving. Keep looking ahead to see where you are going, and back to see where you have been.
