Feliz de Cinco de Mayo!
Dear Families,
We are in the final two weeks of school! Amazing! Next week the children will not be in uniforms. If you have uniforms you’d like to re-sale or sell for free (smile), please bring to the front office on Monday. May Crowning was beautiful last week! Our Third and Fourth graders did a splendid job being our prayer leaders. This coming Friday, we will celebrate our last Mass for this school year with Fr. Ed Weisenburger at 9:00 a.m.
Our calendar is really full this week – feel free to come and join us! Our Piano recital is Wednesday, May 7 at 9:00 a.m. and Thursday is our Poetry Festival at 9:00 a.m.
This is the week we also celebrate our Mothers – we invite all our LC 3 and LC 4 Mothers to come on Wednesday, May 7 at your child’s regular time for lunch and on Friday, May 9, we invite our Mothers from Kindergarten through 4th grade.
Those mothers in K-4 who can come help serve on Wednesday are welcome as is also those in LC 3 and LC 4 are welcome to come Friday to help serve.
Many families completed their twenty hours in preparation for the Soiree. You can easily get two more hours (as a lot of families are really close to 20) with helping to serve lunch for our mothers.
Congratulations to the following for completing twenty volunteer hours for this school year: Becca and Kevin Jessop, Marjorie Bostic, Lisa Mosley, Katie Brown, Steven Deutsch and Liz Wilson, Jacki Millspaugh, Michael and Hneade Dunbar, Elizabeth Meares, Paula and Chris Gander, Matt and Mary Geer, Tony and Kelly Goebel, Cristie and Ed Pendleton, Sherry Schmitt, Emily Scott, Johanna and Jay Wall, Chaya Fletcher, Jane and Andy Schallhorn, and Michelle Foy.
On Mother’s Day, Sunday, May 11, there is a special gathering, “Building a Better Future with our Kids” on the South Steps of the State Capitol. There will be live music, guest speakers, face painting, arts and crafts, various fun activities celebrating our mothers. The event takes place at 3:00 p.m.

Go and Renew the Face of the Earth
INVENTORY: How have you experienced the Holy Spirit acting in your life? Did you ever believe it was the Holy Spirit who was inspiring you? Enlightening you? Comforting you? Strengthening you?
INPUT: The Spirit of the Lord fills the whole world…holds all things together and knows every word in human speech. This is a global perspective, seeing the Spirit as the source of unity and eventual peace throughout the world. The Holy Spirit is also a personal mentor, tutor or coach as contrasted with a teacher who addresses a whole group. The Spirit works with you as an individual to help you remember, understand, and act on what Jesus taught. The Spirit helps you use your particular, individual gifts for others. The Spirit maintains unity while promoting and enhancing diversity.
SCRIPTURE: Acts 2:1-11; 1 Corinthians 12: 3-13; John 20: 19-23
INSIGHT: What do I see that needs to be done in the Church? Can I acknowledge this as a gift of the Spirit? Will I have the consistent faith to act on it, doing what I can to bring it about? What is the Spirit empowering me to do?
INITIATIVE: Be a prophet. Renew the face of the earth.
