Villa Teresa School celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2008. Join us for our "75 Drive!"
The school, located in MidTown at 1216 Classen Drive, was founded by the Carmelite Sisters of St. Therese in 1933. Since then, the school has expanded to neighboring buildings, and offers year-round compassionate childcare and a Christian learning environment for all young people from two and a half years old to fourth grade.
In 75 years, hundreds of students have walked the halls of Villa Teresa School, where education has always involved the whole child within the whole family. Aside from a strong academic program, students are taught to be service-oriented in the local community and to learn to embrace and interact with cultures and worlds beyond their own.
During the 75th Anniversary celebration, the school is undergoing a fundraising drive, the “75 Drive,” to further infrastructure improvements to its buildings and grounds. The school does not receive Parish support and is solely funded through tuition and grants, in concert with administration from the Carmelite Sisters.
“Villa Teresa has influenced the Oklahoma City community for 75 years, providing future leaders and those who will continue to make this city the great city it is,” said Sr. Veronica Higgins, School Principal. “By teaching values and giving students a strong religious background, students continue to receive a well-rounded education - helping them learn how to study as well as what to study.”
